This is the web site for the course Modern instrumentation.

This course is an introduction to the signal processing and data analysis techniques presently used in several different physics research and modern medicine research laboratories. It will give you some background on analog electronics, data acquisition systems and on the instrumentation commonly used in electronics research laboratories. You will be able to design GUIs and data acquisition algorithm building your virtual instrument with Labview software. The course is hands-on and your observations are the starting point of your learning process.
I hope that this course will be enjoyable for you, but you should be prepared the occasional frustration that are unavoidable companions of research in experimental physics. On the other hand, you may be able to make genuine discoveries and your final project may be your first research accomplishment.
